Primary 5 enjoyed their visit with our tiny teacher Jarlath and his mum Clare to work through Theme 6- Milestones and Safety. The children had previously established that Milestone is something that is newly achieved. They realised milestones aren't just for small children but for bigger children and adults too. We had discussed how we all reach various milestones at different times-that it is not a race!! We all achieve at different times and stages in our lives. Clare was able to tell us how Jarlath has met various milestones including sitting, crawling, pulling himself up, clapping hands.....but meeting milestones also means that we have to make sure Jarlath remains safe. We discussed how Jarlath needs a stair gate now for example. The children cheered with delight when they saw their tiny teacher crawl and clap his hands. Have a look at these happy faces.
